College-Temple District in Newnan

Image
It's hard to believe that in a few nights we'll celebrate our eighteenth year of Trick or Treating in the historic neighborhood known as the College-Temple District in Newnan . . .one of the scariest neighborhoods for young treat-or-treaters" in all the land! Spooky! Parents load up the kids on flatbeds, vans and pick-ups knowing that the kids will score "big time" and have plenty to share back at home. We've seen more adults in the past few years-claiming their "begging" is for unseen children left behind in some imaginary location . . .uh-huh!

Trees by Candy Carter

I think that I shall never see A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is prest Against the earth's sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray; A tree that may in summer wear A nest of robins in her hair; Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain. Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree. "Trees" By Alfred Joyce Kilmer by 1913
