Baked Oysters and Clams

Image
Desperate for something hot but too tired to spend an evening in the kitchen I made some quick seafood entrees. For me, Baked Oysters, for Ron, Baked Clams. Ten minutes of preparation and 15 minutes to bake and dinner is on the table. In both dishes it was the same list of ingredients with either the fresh shucked oysters or canned clams! Oyster Bake 6 or 8 medium oysters 7 crackers (crushed) 2 tsps mayonnaise dash of hot sauce 1 tbsp chopped scallions pinch of garlic powder pinch of cajun seasoning 1/4 cup mixed cheese Mix ingredients in a small bowl. Place on top of oysters in a buttered dish. Top with mixed cheese. Broil for five minutes at 500 degrees. Reset oven to Bake at 400 degrees and bake for about ten minutes. Cool and serve.

Ms. Ruby Bear

Meet Ms. Ruby Bear! Our Ruby Bear has only been with us for two weeks and it seems like a wonderful lifetime with our gentle giant. She's affectionate and loves the company of humans! She seems to prefer men but has steadily formed a bond with me as well. Ms. Ruby Bear was due to be euthanized 2 Thursdays ago. She suffers from arthritis but we've managed to reduce her swelling and minimize the pain with the addition of turmeric and milk thistle to her diet. She's staked her claim on some comfortable quilts next to our bed-where she doesn't have to climb stairs and has access to soft grass and lots of shade! She came to us with her coat dull and her teeth a little dirty but we are seeing a big improvement in her coat with daily brushings. Now, that she is feeling happy and secure we will have a mobile spa day to clip her long nails and give her a pretty new collar! We don't know how long she will be with us on this earth but she has brought so much joy to

Grilled Bread Pudding with Fresh Peaches

Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast enjoyed the company of Bed and Breakfast "newbies" last night! We have always enjoyed the responsibility of "breaking in" newbies but Dannie and Stephanie were particularly delightful. Dannie arranged for Stephanie to show up at designated locations texted between cell phones and all Stephanie had to do was show up and enjoy! Tough life, huh, girls?! Our Bed and Breakfast was a little bit of a mystery since we don't display very large signs in Newnan. Three balloons were hung on the mailbox to mark the spot and she pulled in somewhat hesitantly! Their getaway evening was enjoyable according to both. . .Stephanie enjoyed a relaxing spa treatment, read a book by the pool, dinner out, dessert in and a quiet evening alone in Guestroom Tre. Breakfast was our wonderful pan-fried bread pudding with fresh peaches and raspberry syrup. Tried it myself! Yummy! We even packed each of them a breakfast sandwich to go along with Ron's Peanut

Newnan Celebrates In A Big Way!

What a fun weekend! With more Americans staying home to celebrate the Fourth-celebrations across America were downhome, family celebrations with loads of kids, dogs, motorcycle Mamas and high school bands. Newnan, Georgia was no exception! The festivities started up this Friday night with a special July 4th party at Octane Coffee and Cocktails. Fabulous music, good food, icey beer and a great selection of wines pleased locals and kept the energy lively through-out the night! Mainstreet Newnan celebrated the Fourth in a big way with Market Days and our fabulous July 4th Parade through downtown Newnan- and a big finale tonight with fabulous fireworks display at Drake Stadium in Newnan. Casa Bella Bed and Breakfast celebrated our third month with it's first full house and guests will extend their holiday celebration enjoying plenty of sun by our pretty pool, dinner on the square and leisurely breakfasts celebrating the July 4 weekend!
